WILLS POINT, TX – During lockdown, GFA pastor-led relief brought food to homes with no way to earn. A pastor and church youth gathered rice, dal, sugar, oil and salt. They asked officials for the right to help and chose five families most in need. Each family received a full bag and shared warm thanks.
In the area where Pastor Daine served, COVID-19 lockdowns had prevented impoverished families from earning a living. With no income, many had little or no food. After learning about their hardship, Pastor Daine and the young people in his church decided to help.
Like many GFA pastor-led churches responding to families in need, Pastor Daine and his congregation gathered food for distribution. Before proceeding, however, they sought permission from local officials.
When the officials learned about the group’s plans, they readily granted permission and expressed gratitude for the young adults’ willingness to serve. Pastor Daine and the youth then identified five families facing the greatest need and provided them with bags of rice, dal, sugar, oil and salt.
