GFA World is training up Christians within a country’s borders to do the work that native missionaries from other countries, such as the United States, used to do. And the result has been an “unstoppable compassion force.”
Founder K.P. Yohannan says the mission field really began to change when World War II came to an end.
“The reality is 80% of the countries of the world are closed or restrict anyone from outside coming to do any mission work,” Yohannan reports. “This is where we say the most important thing is to train and support native missionaries and national workers in these nations so they can reach their own people.”
His ministry, he says, is following the book of Acts — planting churches and often suffering persecution because of their work to make disciples of the Lord.
“We have to get behind the brothers and sisters and help them as senders according to Romans 10, and that’s what Gospel for Asia (GFA) is doing,” Yohannan asserts. “By God’s mercy, it’s an absolute miraculous thing to see that daily tens of thousands are coming to know the Lord through their own people.”
Sending a foreign missionary into Asia or Africa could cost from $100,000 to $200,000, but Gospel for Asia (GFA) can support a native missionary, his wife, and a couple of children on the mission field for $200 a month — and with a phenomenal success rate.
