WILLS POINT, TX – Boat ministry outreach began with prayers for widows, children, and families on far-off jungle islands. The distance made visits difficult, but GFA World workers kept going by local boat, bringing help and hope. When families received chicks, they gained a practical way to raise income. When widows shared their grief, they found people who would listen and pray with them. In 2014, a sturdy boat strengthened this ministry, and churches now meet on 34 islands.
In 2006, GFA workers started a ministry to bring God’s love to a group of jungle islands, 54 of which are inhabited, where people live in poverty and hardship. The remoteness of the islands made it very challenging for GFA workers to get to this area, but they were able to visit the communities using local boats.
